Investigation of the relationship between present teachers 'communication skills and empatical trends (Afyonkarahisar sample)

This study was conducted to examine the relationship between empathic tendency and communication skills in pre-school teacher candidates according to various variables. The research was carried out with 375 pre-primary teacher candidates in Afyon Kocatepe University in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year. Relational screening model was used as a research model. Descriptive Research method was used in the study. The data collected from 375 preschool teacher candidates were analyzed with SPSS package program. As a result of the analysis, a relationship was found between the scores obtained from the Communication Skills scale and the mean scores of the Empathic Tendency scale. When the communication skills and empathic tendencies of the preschool teacher candidates were examined according to class level, a significant positive relationship was observed, but no significant relationship was found between the mother's education level and the father's education level (p = 0.001, p <0.05).
