Burnout in school administrators: City center Kütahya

The aim of this study is to determine the burnout levels of school administrators according to the dimesions of burnout and total burnout and to analyse their perceptions of burnout dimensions according to the gender, age, marital status, child status, occupational employment, education, total management seniority, number of students at the school, the school teacher number, position, position location, health status and title variables. 233 school admınıstrators who worked in 2010-2011 in city center Kütahya to primary and high schools were surveyed in line with this aim. Total 186 questionnaires (Maslach Burnout Inventory and Personal İnformation Form) were responded and evaluated. Microsoft Excel and SPSS 16.0 program was used. In the study; frequency, percentage and arithmetical means of data that was obtained for the purpose of determining the personal and occupational features of administrators and the data was interpreted. To reveal if school administrators? burnout levels differ according to their gender, age, marital status, child status, occupational employment, education, total management seniority, number of students at the school, the school teacher number, position, position location and health status, t-test and one way alysis of variance (ANOVA) is estimated and Tukey or LSD test is used in order to find out groups that differ from others. According to the investigations, schools administrators, emotional exhaustion, personal accomplishment, and total burnout scores are less burnout. There is very little burnout is also the dimension of depersonalization. There wasn?t significant difference according to gender, marital status, child status, education level, number of students at the school, at school number of teachers and health status. But significant difference was found according to age, professional seniority, seniority total management, task and task areas.Keywords: Education System, School Administrators, Burnout, Burnout Dimensions, Burnout Fighting Techniques.
