The effect leadership orientation of the school administrators on the professional lives of the teachers

Motivation and human relations are important for both the organization and the employees in the work environment, where an average of one-third of the day is spent and which affects people both physically and spiritually. Each of the employees of the organization meets with their own experiences, beliefs and lives under the roof of the organization. Therefore, motivation rates of each employee may be at different levels for different reasons. Managers' leadership styles and traits are also very effective on this motivation. The aim of this study is to reveal the effects of the personal characteristics and behaviors of the school principal, where teachers working in public affiliated public schools, work first, and also to draw attention to the importance of the first principals to be employed for teachers who have just started working within the framework of school administrators' personality structures and motivation. This study consists of teachers working in public, primary, secondary and high schools in the 2019-2020 academic year and working with at least two school principals during their teaching life. A total of 367 volunteers participated in the study, of which 267 were female and 100 were male. The data collection tool consists of two parts: personal features and features that teachers first employ. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20 package program and a scale of 18 questions was developed according to the results. As a result of this study, it was observed that the first administrators were effective on both the professional motivation of teachers and their subsequent professional lives. In the light of the results, emphasizing the effect of school administrators' behavior especially on teachers who are new to the profession, contributing to the reduction of the manager behaviors that negatively affect motivation and helping to increase the research in this field with the "18-item Task or Relationship-Oriented Leadership Scale" developed in the research process. hope to be.
