Abstract (EN)

Archetypes are products of the collective unconscious that have existed throughout human history. Based on Psychoanalysis, archetypes have found their place in literary criticism as a result of Jung's discovery. Today, the archetypal criticism method has evolved with new interpretations, drawing from various fields such as anthropology, psychology, mythology, and religion. The novels of Ömer Fikret Oyal, a contemporary novelist, are suitable for examination through the archetypal criticism method. The author has used interconnected archetypes in his related novels to develop the plot. This study examines eight novels by Ömer F. Oyal, evaluating the encountered archetypes through the archetypal criticism method. The study consists of two parts. The first part introduces the novelist's life, understanding of the novel, and works. The second part explores the concept of archetype, the archetypal criticism method, and the archetypes in the novelist's novels.
