Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relations between space and character in the movies of Ömer Kavur and the basic concepts that these relations share according to movies' subjects will be interpreted. This kind of concepts that we thought them have something in common in movies, are outsiderness, odyssey, loneliness, breaking, and loss, and during the study, they will be considered in terms of the establishing relations with space. We claim that Kavur considers the themes and characters of movies with the expression of spaces as a whole, thus that he undermines the perception of space which is valid in a variety of domains, and that he introduces new perspectives on the notions of memory and society. Kavur's narratives of space are presented in certain integrity both in the social realist movies and in other films which dealing with more personal or abstract subjects. By focusing on Kavur's original narrative forms, different themes, citations, presentation of space and characters will be interpreted while preserving this cinematographic integrity. In this respect, the study will build on a qualitative research on the subject. By making in-depth use of relevant literature, the main problems, themes and concepts of the cinematography of Kavur will be analyzed based on this research. Within the framework of the necessary details of the movies of Kavur related to the subject, the characters and parts of the paths in the movies will be analyzed, and inferences will be made on the narrative of space and the originality of the relationship between them. We will combine these inferences with our argument that Kavur's narratives of space have unique characteristics, and elaborate this argument.
