Abstract (EN)

Nepotism which refers to the act of favoring one?s relatives when one has power or a high office, is a very common behavior in organizations. Although there are several benefits of nepotism for organizations and the individuals benefiting from these practices, there are also disadvantages for the same organizations and the other members of these organizations, who doesn?t benefit from nepotism but witness them. Therefore nepotism requires to be managed in order to maitain and increase its benefits and control the potential damage to the organizations. In order to manage nepotism, one needs to understand the concept and its effects on organizations and their members well. In this context, it is believed that nepotism has some significant effects on the perception of justice among organizational members. This study aims at identifying the relationship between nepotism and organizational justice perception in organizations.Although there are some studies in foreign literature regarding nepotism and its effects on organizations, the studies in local literature is very limited. However, considering its significant effects on organizations, there is a necessity for more studies in this subject. In this study, the effects of nepotism on perceptions of organizational justice is examined. The research was conducted by using questionnaire technique on a textile company which is in the list of top 500 Industrial Enterprises of Turkey prepared by ICI. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the local literature on nepotism.Keywords: Nepotism, Organizational Justice, Perception of Organizational Justice.
