Abstract (EN)

In this study the yield and quality characteristics of some public and private wheat varieties were investigated. In the Nbc Agriculture research field, in Yıldızören District of Çifteler district of Eskişehir province, 23 varieties were used in the experiment established with 3 replications to the randomised complete block design in the 2020-2021 growing season. In the trial, Karaduman, Ramisbey, Atay-85, Yunus cultivars registered by Eskişehir Transitional Zone Agricultural Research Institute; Ayten Abla, Çavuş, Demirhan registered by Ankara Field Crops Central Research Institute; Ahmetağa, Selçuklu, Tuğra owned by Konya Bahri Dağdaş International Agricultural Research Institute; Yavuz, Abide, Albaşak, Anafarta, Damla, Eylül, Gelibolu, Yüksel cultivars registered by Edirne Trakya Agricultural Research Institute; and Çağdaş, Ezgi, Mesutözen varieties improved by Nbc Agriculture were used. In the study, plant height, spike length, number of spikelet, number of grains in a spike, spike weight, heading time, thousand kernel weight, hectoliter weight, grain yield, protein ratio, gluten amount, harvest index, grain hardiness, starch rate, humidity, zeleny sedimentation of the varieties were examined. The plant height of the varieties used in the research is between 66.2-96.3 cm, the spike length 6.5-8.9 cm, the number of spikelets 10.9-15.5, the number of grains per spike 20.2-33.6., spike weight 0.8-1.8 g, heading time 188.6-201 days, thousand kernel weight 29.3-40.4 g, hectolitre weight 74.7-81.5 kg/hl, grain yield 361-562.3 kg/da, protein rate 10.5- 12.8%, gluten amount 20.8-27.3%, harvest index 25.7-33.3%, grain hardness 27.3-66.4 and zeleny sedimentation value varied between 25.8-39.34 ml. In the experiment, the highest grain yield was obtained from the Çağdaş variety with 562.33 kg/da, followed by Ayten Abla with 521.73 kg/da and Anafarta variety with 506.33 kg/da. Since selection must be made by taking into account the effect of environmental conditions on the yield and quality characteristics of genotypes, Mesutözen and Çavuş varieties, which have a reasonable level of yield as well as quality characteristics, have come to the fore and have become varieties suitable for the Eskişehir region conditions.
