Abstract (EN)

Coastal dunes are ecosystems that are constantly exposed to stress factors and disturbances. Plant species found in coastal dunes react differently to these factors. The response of dune species to stress and disturbance factors varies among species. The main purpose of this study is to classify the common species (Pancratiummaritimum, Xanthium orientalesubsp. cavanillesii, Achillea maritima subp. maritima and Eryngiummaritimum, Polygonum maritimum, Euphorbia paralias, Medicago marina, Hippopheaerhamnoides) in coastal dunes in Samsun province as pure or intermediate strategies using Grime's CSR (competitive, stress-resistant, ruderal) method. Within the scope of this study, first seven regions (Çoban Yatağı, Hürriyet, Sindel, Costal, Sahilkent, Doyran and Cernek) including typical coastal dunes in Samsun province were studied. Plant species commonly found in coastal dunes in these regions were determined. In these plantspecies, canopy length, dry matter content in the leaf, flowering period, lateral spread, leaf dry weight, Spesifik leaf area and flowering start were determined. Pancratium maritimum; exhibit CR strategy. Xanthium orientalesubsp. cavanillesiiexhibit CR, C/CR ve S/SC strategies. Achillea maritima subp. maritima was similar to P. maritimum except for CR/CSR strategy in Sindel. It was found that Eryngium maritimum; usually exhibit R/CR and CR strategies. Polygonum maritimum exhibit CR and SC strategies although this species exhibit pure S-strategy in only one locality. Euphorbia paralias exhibit CR strategy in addition to tertiary strategies like Medicago marina. Hippopheae rhamnoides exhibit SC, C/CR and C/SC strategies, respectively. As a result, it was found that almost all of the species showed secondary strategies. However, studied plant species usually exhibitS-strategies according to StrateFy method. Plant functional types (PFTs) were also determined. The presence of rhizome, clonality, thorniness and carbonhydrate storage were found to be significant in discrimance of PFTs.
