Abstract (EN)

In recent studies, it has been observed that sports reduce people's negative emotional states and increase their psychological resilience levels. This shows that individuals who do sports are psychologically stronger in the face of the difficulties they face. The purpose of this study; To examine the psychological resilience and happiness levels of high school students in terms of gender, doing or not doing sports, and weekly training frequency variables. A total of 541 high school students, 417 boys and 124 girls, studying in central high schools in Kırşehir province, participated in this research in the 2023-2024 academic year. The work consists of 62 pages. Research data; Personal information form was collected using the "Short Psychological Resilience Scale" and "Oxford Happiness Scale Short Form". Descriptive statistics, t-test for independent groups, one-way analysis of variance and paerson correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. Research findings show that doing sports helps students; It has no direct effect on psychological resilience, there is a statistically significant difference in happiness levels, psychological resilience levels are independent of gender, happiness levels are independent of gender, the psychological resilience levels of young people who do licensed sports are higher than young people who do unlicensed sports, the happiness of young people who do sports is It was found that sports levels did not change depending on the purpose of doing sports (licensed or unlicensed).
