Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relationship between students' metacognitive skills and attitudes towards solving mathematical problem was investigated. 261 students attending 7th grade of a middle school in Erzurum province participated in the study conducted within the framework of the relational screening model. 'Mathematical Problem Solving Attitude Scale' was applied to the students in order to determine their attitudes towards solving the mathematics problem. In addition, 'Metacognition Scale' was applied to measure the metacognition of learners participating in the study. SPSS statistical program was used for the analysis of the obtained data. According to the findings obtained from the research, it has been determined that the students have a negative attitude towards solving mathematical problems. It has also been determined that students enjoy medium-level of problem solving but have a negative attitude towards problem teaching. According to the result of the research, it is understood that the students have a high level of metacognition skills. Besides, there was a meaningful in the negative direction and low-level correlation between students' attitudes towards solving the mathematical problem and metacognitive skills.
