Abstract (EN)

The aim of this research was to put forth the relationship between the secondary school teachers' emotional labor and their job satisfaction. The population of this research, was consist of teachers who work in secondary government schools of Aydın province in 2014-2015 educational academic term. The sample of the research was 295 teachers selected randomly via stratified sampling method. Data was collected by means of Personal Information Form; Emotional Labor Scale and Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale. For the validity of the scales, confirmatory factor analysis was used. In data analysis, independent samples t test, ANOVA, Mann Whitney U Test , Kruskal Wallis Test and Scheffe Tests were used. In order to test significant difference of emotional labor and job satisfaction The Pearson Product- Moment Correlation technique and the Multiple Regression Analysis were used. The significance level was .05. According to the findings of the research, secondary school teachers' emotional labor was at the highest level on surface acting and followed by genuine and deep acting. Male teachers' deep acting level and external satisfaction were meaningfully higher than female teachers'. The teachers' level of deep acting who were over 46 is meaningfully higher. The teachers' genuine acting level who love their jobs was meaningfully higher than the ones who do not. Teachers' internal satisfaction was at the highest levels and followed by general and external satisfaction. Teachers who have 5 or less and 21 or more years of experience had relatively higher external and general job satisfaction than the other groups. Teachers who love their jobs had more internal, external and general job satisfaction than the teachers who do not.
