Different faith groups in Ottoman geography and collection of biographies authors' perspectives on these groups

In every period of history, people have adopted and lived different beliefs. It is possible to see this reflection in the Ottoman Empire, which generally adopted Sunni Islam. It is seen that people who adopt a set of ideas defined as "heterodoxy" which was developed against the dominant view expressed as Sunniism (orthodoxy), generally have some difficulties. In almost every society in which he comes out, the words of these sections are sometimes regarded as a blasphemy and even people expressing such thoughts aloud have been thrown into jail or murdered. It is a well-known fact that these thought systems, which can be said to have developed within the esoteric tradition, are also adopted by some divan poets and are processed in poems. It can be said that these poets and their views have been brought to the attention in a different way in the tezkires written since their time. In this study, it is aimed to identify and evaluate the poets mentioned in the above context by scanning the tezkires of poets, one of the most important biographical sources of our history of literature. In this way, firstly, the concepts of esoterism, orthodoxy and heteredoxy are briefly given to create a conceptual framework. Then, the tezkires written in the Ottoman field were briefly introduced and then the Tezkire writers' approaches to the poets who adopted different beliefs - shown to belong to the heterodox group - were examined. The positive or negative evaluations of these biographical sources are discussed comparatively. It is aimed to determine how the reflections of the personal beliefs of the writers of the tezkire to the poet's biography, the extent to which the poets belonging to Sunni Muslim and non-Sunni poets are brought to the attention, and also the perspectives of how poets who are claimed to have no belief are evaluated.
