Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between self-compassion and psychological flexibility with depression. The sample of the study consists of 495 students who attend Hasan Kalyoncu University in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. The data of the study were collected by using Beck Depression Scale, Acceptance and Action Scale-2, Self-Compassion Scale, and Socio-Demographic Information Form. Relational screening model was used in the research. Pearson correlation analysis, independent samples t test, path analysis and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used to analyze the data. As a result of the study, it was found that self-compassion and psychological flexibility were protective factors for depression. It was also observed that psychological flexibility had a mediating role in the relationship between self-compassion and depression. Studies on this subject can help both prevent depression and treat depression.
