Examination of depression, anxiety and burnout levels in special education and rehabilition center employees

In this study, it was aimed to determine the depression, anxiety and burnout levels in special education and rehabilitation center employees, and also to examine the relationship between these levels and socio-demographic variables and working conditions. The research sample consisted of education personnel working in private education institutions in Adana Çukurova district between 2022-2023. It is known that the number of psychologists, psychological counselors, physiotherapists and branch teachers (preschool teachers, child development specialists, classroom teachers and master trainers) working in the existing rehabilitation institutions in Çukurova district consists of 594 people. 234 working individuals participated in the research. Personal Information Form, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Maslach Burnout Inventory (BDI) were used to collect data in the study. The research model is a descriptive study in relational screening model. The data were analyzed with SPSS 26 package program. The collected data were analyzed using Spearman Correlation and Kolmogorov Smirnov methods.As a result of the study, according to the mean depression scores (16.51±11.68); the special education and rehabilitation center employees showed mild depression symptoms, according to the mean anxiety scores (15.63±12.35), they were found to have mild to moderate anxiety symptoms.According to the mean scores of the Maslach burnout subscales, it was found that emotional exhaustion was (27.27±9.12), depersonalization was (12.61±4.74), personal achievement was (22.59±6.76).There is a positive and statistically significant correlation between Beck Depression score and Beck Anxiety score, Burnout scale, Emotional exhaustion sub-score, Desensitizationsub-score and Personal achievement sub-scores.
