Abstract (EN)

Deep drawing, one of the sheet forming methods, has a large area of use in industry. Beverage cans, saucepans and tubes are manufactured using this technique. The deep drawing method, used frequently in automotive industry, has various challenges and aspects open to development. Various studies are conducted to develop the deep drawing methods. In deep drawing process, sheet metals with usually fixed thicness are deep drawn. The most important problem is to increase the drawing height. However, limiting drawing rate limits the drawing height. Many special methods have been developed to increase the drawing height. One of them is to use the blank having machined edges. In this work blanks, having a thickness at 2 mm and machined edges of 1°, 2°, 3° and 4° have been used. The results are compared withe unmachined blanks. The highest drawing height is obtained with the blank having 1° machined edge and diameter of 95 mm.
