The impact of visionary leadership perception in private education institutions on teachers' motivation

The aim of this study is to analyze the expectations of teachers working in institutions and to create working environments according to their needs. And also to create incentive resources according to the performance of teachers which may have positive effects on institutions. By analyzing the questionnaires conducted in this study with the SPSS program, the necessary suggestions were made by analyzing what the effects of visionary leaders on the motivation of teachers and what resources can be used to increase their motivation. It was used on 249 people and among them were teachers and vice principals working in 10 private schools in Çorum province in the 2022-2023 academic year. The research used a data collection tool consisting of three parts. In the first part, demographic data was obtained, in the second part, 'Visionary Leadership Scale' developed by Sabancı A. was applied, and in the third part, teacher motivation scale was used. In the analysis of data, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, correlation analysis and simple regression analysis were used. After the analysis, it was seen that people who completed undergraduate education have more visionary leadership scores than associate degree graduates. On the other hand, it is seen that the intrinsic motivation rates of people with undergraduate and graduate education levels are low. In this respect, it shows that people with this level of education can be directed to another job where they can earn more wages. In this respect, it would be more logical for leaders to base their expectations on the value that someone has. Key Terms: visionary leadership, leadership, vision, teacher, performance, motivation
