Interactions of the layered structure of the palempsest concept on the art of painting

It is very important for the concept of Palempsest to continue its existence in the period of Ancient Egypt, starting in 3000 B.C. and up to the present day, and to keep it upto date. As a matter of fact, it is one of the most important parameters of preserving the value of writing in terms of semantics that it creates a unity between "old and new writing" in its structure. Although today this concept is mostly used in architecture, geology, paleontology, psychoanalysis, etc. Although it contains an explanatory structure over many areas; palempsest has evolved into a transdisciplinary concept in today's digital technology age, in terms of being connected to the past and the future and containing the traces of experiences.The beginning of the mutual exchange transactions between the iconic paintings in the history of art dates back to the 17th century. The re-meaning of the stylistic change of interdisciplinary-inter-significant dialogues in art in line with its effect on semantic transformation creates a rich research topic in terms of the concept of palempsest. As a matter of fact, they brought a new perspective to art with the quotations, reflections and imitations made in the works produced regarding the period in line with the interpretations of the artists in the field of visual arts. The original style that emerged within the scope of the reproduction process that emerged with this understanding has transformed into a brand new structure in the form of formal, contextual and semantic transformation of the frame of the simplified definition of "overlapping pictures" in the simplest sense. As a matter of fact, this structure continues its development, change and transformation process by expanding its scope of inquiry from past to present. So much so, that many works belonging to the great masters of art history are reinterpreted by different artists at different times, and a new form of expression is revealed, especially in postmodern art. Thanks to the citation method preferred by the artists, the art of painting has opened the door to the re-examination of traditions, understandings and even movements in its historical process. In this context, the research, questioning and interpretation of the shopping processes between the works constitute the basis of the production process of the postmodern understanding of art. Therefore, we can claim that the pictorial quotation, which is an important achievement of postmodernism, has similarities with the concept of palempsest in the context of interpictoriality, in the context of 'intertextuality- intersemiotic'.
