Analytical hierarchy proces in the solution of workers performance evaluation problem and an applicatione

Employees' advancement of work and the fastest pace of change are key issues for managers in changing and improving the world conditions and the competitive environment. Because the selection of the right and purpose-oriented employees has a great effect on both the development of the company and the motivation of the employees. For that reason problem of employee selection and evaluation that companies face often is an important problem. For the solution of that problem, the performances of employees are compared and evaluated by the considering criteria determined by manager. Thus this is a multi criteria problem. In this study, stated problem which is often faced by today's managers is analyzed for Lanse Ayakkabı ve Yan San. Tic A.Ş. by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Criteria of employee selection has been determined after reviewing the literature and interviewing the owner of the company. Considering these criteria, the hierarchical model related to personnel selection problem faced by managers of Lanse A.Ş. was established and paired comparisons were made to obtain the manager's judgments. As a result of the paired comparisons, employee which is the most suitable for store manager position from six employees of Lanse A.Ş. was identified and the results were reported to the decision-maker. The validity and applicability of the results are approved by the decision-maker.
