Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, three pyridine-benzotriazole derivative ligands (Pyr-Bt, PyrNHCH2Bt, PyrCOBt) and three palladium complexes (PyrBt-Pd, PyrNHCH2Bt-Pd, PyrCOBt-Pd) were synthesized as a result of their binding with palladium metal. Characterization of all compounds was performed using UV-visible, FTIR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopic techniques. Thermal analysis studies of the complexes were carried out with the TG/DTA/DTG methods. The catalytic effects of synthesized palladium complexes in Suzuki coupling reactions between aryl halides and phenyl boronic acid were investigated. The catalytic activities of the synthesized palladium complexes were investigated in C-C coupling reactions between phenyl boronic acid and bromopyridine, iodobenzene, bromobenzene and 4-bromoacetophenone. In the catalysis studies carried out under microwave irradiation, the effects of reaction time, solvent, base and amount of catalyst on the efficiency of the catalyst were investigated. When the activities of the synthesized complexes were compared, it was determined that the PyrBt-Pd complex was higher than the other two complexes. In the reusability experiments of the catalysts, it was found that the PyrNHCH2Bt-Pd complex retained over 80% efficiency for five cycles, thus its reusability was higher than the other complexes.
