Abstract (EN)

This study aims at elaborating any direct and indirect effects of the video art, as from its emergence, on the plastic arts, particularly the painting art. The definition and place of the image concept in all the disciplines are examined, and described in the context of the plastic arts. The aspects related with the image concept include the philosophy, mythology, mysticism, phenomenology, painting, technology, photography, television, video and space. The emergence of video arts is elaborated in conjunction with its connections with the artistic, social and economic structure. The pioneering video artists specialized in different fields, including Nam June Paik, Vito Acconsi, Wolf Vostell, Ulrike Rosenbach, Merta Roslar, Peter Campus and Nil Yalter, are studied. The study covers the video artists who are affected by the plastic arts, particularly the painting, up to today. In this context are handled the works of Robin Rhode, Bill T. Jones, Joseph Beuys, Bill Viola, Norman McLaren, Sam Taylor-Wood and AES+F Group. The example artists in question deformed the inert nature of the design and painting to create such works as combine the mobility and performance. The relations of such works with the paintings in the history of arts are also outlined. It is clearly understood through the studies that the video artists are consciously or unconsciously affected by the different branches of plastic arts, and that they produce works in reference to the history of painting arts.
