Abstract (EN)
In this study, it was aimed to produce wound healing nanofibers using chitosan (CS) doped polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and inula viscosa (IV) extract by electrospinning method. In the study, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and chitosan were used together to produce nanofibers for medical purposes. Inula viscosa (IV) extracts were added to this mixture and nanofibers were obtained by electrospinning method. The extraction process was carried out in four different environments to obtain the extract of the Inula viscosa plant. The active ingredients in inula viscosa plant extracts obtained in different environments were determined by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC MS). Gel solutions were obtained by mixing chitosan with high viscosity and PVA at different weight ratios for a long time. The surface appearances of the nanofibers obtained by electrospinning from the prepared solutions were evaluated by scanning electron microscopy. Then, electrospinning was performed by adding PVA/CS (2% acetic acid) to the gel solution in different proportions of inula viscosa plant extract. While planning each nanofiber production, the necessary parameters were optimized. Surface characterization with scanning electron microscope (SEM), structural characterization with Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrum (FT-IR), and thermal characterization with Thermogravimetric and Differential Thermal Analysis (TGA/DTA) were performed for all nanofibers with different ratios obtained. The antibacterial activities of PVA/CS nanofibers and PVA/CS/IV nanofibers containing different ratios of inula viscosa extract were investigated comparatively.
