Abstract (EN)

The religious phenomenon is as old as man himself, and who studies values, customs, traditions, laws, and economic and political systems, also the contemplator of the movement of history and the ancient and contemporary moral heritage will see the impact and role of religion in it clear in one form or another, less or more, direct, or indirect. Hence, the study of the religious phenomenon becomes an urgent necessity that cannot be ignored or exceeded to understand human societies and analyze their movement. Religion is not just a ritual phenomenon associated with religious sciences only, but a human and social phenomenon that focuses attention for scientific studies from various sciences and fields of knowledge, especially the social sciences. It is necessary to understand their impact on social behaviors and daily life and the role they play and the impact they have on individuals and societies, especially in our Arab and Islamic societies. Specialized studies on patterns of religiosity and their effects in Arab and Islamic societies are few and difficult, despite their great importance. Hence this research came with the help of the descriptive and inductive historical and philosophical approach to address the role and impact of religion as a social phenomenon on the individual and society, It examines how religious awareness is formed in different and different patterns and forms of religiosity, and the impact of personal and objective factors on their formation, and deals with the popular and kinetic patterns of religiosity, considering the populist of the first and the elitism of the second, and their impact on contemporary Iraqi society.
