Evaluation of the quality of life, anxiety and depression with predialysis patients

Chronic Renal Failure is an illness that threats the life, decreases the working-power capacity importantly and accuring the variety complications is seen nearly all of ages group. In spite of increasing the information and technology in Renal Replacement Treatment, patients with end stage renal disease, mortality and morbidity rate is still highest point.In this study that we did, with the thought than can face with important psychological problem when he/she learns his/her own ilness. It?s aimed to evaluate the quality of life, determination of anxiety and depression in patients group and determine the releated factors.Our study was made in Afyonkarahisar Kocatepe University Ahmet Necdet Sezer Education and Research Hospital Neprology Education Department and who visited Neprology Polyclinic with Creatinin Clierens 30 ml/min decline predialysis patients groups. The questionnaire was applied between 15 July 2007- 15 January 2008 with the style of face to face. This research was carried out 35 ill people (19 female, 16 male) and 35 control group (19 female, 16 male), total 70 people. For the research, the questionnaire included in details about socio- demographic properties, SF-36 Quality of Life, Back Depression and Back Anxiety Scale. As staticial analysis of datas , Ki-square and Student t-test are applied , p<0,05 is accepted as meaningful.According the research results, it was determined that age, sex, the places for living, marital status, the number of family members, economic situation, social security and from the parameters of biochemistry, parathormon, urea and potasium are all releated to the quality of life and there is a correlation at the results of Beck Depression and Beck Anxiety Scales. According the control group compared the patient group; it was found out that the life quality is less and the levels of anxietey and depression are higher.The research results showed that disease influenced quality of life, increasing the depression and anxiety rate at the predialysis patients group.In this stage; providing psychological support it could quality of life positively.Key words: Predialysis, Quality of Life, Anxiety, Depression
