Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of glutamine on the acute necrotizing pancreatitis (ANP) induced by glycodeoxycholic acid in rats. Rats were divided into six groups as sham + saline, sham+glutamine, ANP + saline, ANP + glutamine.Acute necrotizing pancraetitis was induced by the infusion of glycodeoxycholic acid into the biliopancreatic duct with the subsequent parenteral administration of Cerulein. The following parameters were them investigated during the illness: mortality, systemic cardiovascular correlates, functional capillary density, renal and hepatic functional tests, some enzyme markers in the pancreatic and lung tissues, serum IL-6, and the extent of pancreatic acinar cell injury by histopathology.Induced acute pancreatitis resulted in a significant increase in the mortality rate and pancreatic necrosis; levels of serum amylase, alanine aminotransferase, IL-6, and urea; lactate dehydrogenase in the bronchoalvelar lavages; tissue activities of myeloperoxidase and malondialdehyde in the pancreas and lungs. There was a significant reduction in serum calcium concentration, blood pressure, urine exretion, p02, and functional capillary density.Administration of glutamine improved these alteretions significantly. Therefore, these results demonstrate that glutamine is suited to the treatment of acue necrotizing pancreatitis.
