Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to examine life satisfaction and physical activity levels of sedentary women practicing reformer pilates exercise. In this quantitative study, the survey model was adopted. The population of the study consists of sedentary women who actively participate in reformer pilates exercise in the Aegean Region. The sample group consisted of 398 participants who actively participated in pilates sessions in reformer pilates studios among sedentary women in Kütahya. The "International Physical Activity Questionnaire" short form was used to determine the physical activity levels of the participants. A life satisfaction scale was also administered. Descriptive statistics, correlation and MANOVA analyses were used to analyze the study data. MANOVA analysis was preferred to compare more than one dependent variable (physical activity and life satisfaction) and more than one independent variable (monthly income and age). Pearson correlation analysis was used for correlation analysis. The findings were evaluated according to p<.05 significance value. While there was a statistically significant difference in the life satisfaction scale according to the monthly income variable, there was no statistically significant difference in the Met value sub-dimension. A low but significant relationship was found between Met values and life satisfaction.
