Abstract (EN)

Child abuse that negatively affect children's growth and development sometimes cousing permanent damage has become social problem. It's known that children who are the adult members of the future exposed to different forms of abuse. Nowadays ıt'seen that the types of abuse which adversly affect the development of children occur in open or hidden ways. The conditions in which children are being abused unconsciously should be identified. Also related to these cases some precautions must be taken and solutions need to be developed. The main purpose of this study is to identify the thoughts of primary school children on advertisement and to put forward suggesstions for solution by investigating the effects of it. For this study, in the academic year of 2013-2014 with randomly selected 263 children in the age group 7 -9 were studied using survey method. Spss 20.0 statistical sowtware was used in the anlysis of data which obtained from the applied surveys on the sample group. By taking frequencies and percentiles of findings, cross tables have been formed and interpreted. According to study results, ıt's identified that children's television watching time is too long and they fondly watch advertisements. They are easily affected by advertising messages. The children who are affected by the advertisements try to buy advertising products. When they weren't able to convince their parents to buy these products they had trouble with their parents and it seemed to convert to abuse. Also, the children who are playing in advertisements are seen as a role model by children audience, this encouraged them play in advertisements and being tried to abuse.
