Assessment of risk factors affecting the occupational health and safety of health workers

With the industrial revolution, the increase in production speed, changes in production methods, and the emergence of new employees brought new problems. There has been a rapid increase in work accidents and occupational diseases due to long and difficult working conditions. As a result of the events, the concept of occupational health and safety in the modern sense has emerged. As the importance and necessity of occupational health and safety in business life for both employees and employers is understood, it has found application in all areas of work, with the leadership of the states. Healthcare workers are among the sectors where the risk of contracting work accidents and occupational diseases is highest as a result of their professional working conditions. The aim of this study is to evaluate the risk factors affecting healthcare professionals in their work lives. Literature review was used while conducting the study. As a result of the study, it was determined that healthcare workers face many dangers and risks throughout their professional lives. If appropriate precautions are not taken against these risks and protective measures are not implemented, it is inevitable for healthcare workers to experience incurable occupational diseases and serious work accidents.
