Abstract (EN)

Health communication aims health promotion and illuminated society by reaching various target audience as well as sharing messages regarding health with a certain strategy and method. Considerable number of people are lack of knowledge regarding HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency) as a social health problem. At this point, health communication have importance about raising awareness for both community-residing person and individuals who has infected with HIV in terms of addressing health problems which society has. Cinema as an easily accessible mean of health communication, can be defined as a phenomenon which social problems and social dynamics are embodied has close relation with a wide range of social sciences. In this regard, HIV positive individuals and people experiencing AIDS stage as well as diseases caused by AIDS has an increasing in importance inevitably. In this thesis, representation of HIV positive individuals and people experiencing AIDS stage was evaluated and discussed in the Turkish and World Cinema Movies in the context of health communication, stigma and fear.
