Abstract (EN)
İn this study, the Karakeçili's, known as Yoruks, who are spread across various regions of Anatolia, particularly the ones residing in Savaştepe district of Balikesir province, were examined. This field research focused on the folk literature and folklore products of the Karakeçili Yoruks in Savaştepe, as well astopics such as the history of the Karakeçili Yoruks, the origin of the Karakeçili name and their settlement in Anatolia. The main part of the study which consists of folk literature and folklore products was obtained through fieldwork and these products were subjected to various analyses and evaluations to obtain results about the current cultural fabric of the Karakeçili Yoruks in Savaştepe. This study is an field research that evaluates the history and particularly the oral culture of the Savaştepe Karakeçili Yoruks referred to as Yoruks.
