Turks have established many states throughout history. One of them is the Great Seljuk State, which has a great importance in the Islamic World. The Seljuk family dominated Horasan by conquering the city of Merv and changed the fate of the Central Asian and Eastern countries. Merv which was a popular city having various names throughout history, has had great importance due to its location on the Great Silk Road. The city of Merv, which was the administrative center of Chagrı Bey, became the capital of the Great Seljuk State during the period of Sultan Sanjar. In the period of the Seljuks, the city of Merv was developed in a way that could not be compared with the previous periods in terms of administrative, economic, commercial, scientific, cultural and social aspects. Rebellions and throne fights in Merv affected the Great Seljuk State in every way and prepared the ground for the collapse of the state. Key woods: Chagri Bey, Merv, Horasan, Selcuk Family Sultan Sanjar.
