Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, a prose work of Şerîf Mehmed, a Turkish Literature translator and author, who lived between the late XVI century and early XVII century, written in Turkish language has been studied. Şerîf Mehmed has converted this poetic work titled Ferruh and Huma to prose by the order of Sultan Mehmed III subsequent to being informed through Gazanfer Agha. The story is incident to the human love between Ferruh and Huma. The work has 4 copies that can be found in Berlin Staatsbibliothek, Istanbul University's Library of Rare Books, Library of Sadberk Hanım Museum, the Library of Topkapı Palace Museum and the work has been written in the musannif calligraphy form, and the Revan copy in the Library of Topkapı Palace Museum has been based on. This study consists of three parts viz. text examination of the story of Ferruh and Huma, presentation of the copies and the transcribed text.
