The composition layout of miniatures of Sevâkıb-ı Menâkıb and Unique Designs (TSM R.1479) and new designs

"Sevâkıb-ı Menâkıb" written by Ahmed Eflaki in Farsi on Mevlâna Celâleddin-i Rumi is of great importance in that it shows what sorts of ideas Mevlâna and associates advocated and what concepts they led and by which subjects community were influenced. The written work encouraged Mesnevi to be created in terms of faiths and ways of living of Mevlâna and friends. Exhibited in Topkapı Place Museum, the work called ''Sevâkıb-ı Menâkıb'' includes 22 miniatures whose masters were not known. Therefore, the first chapter compares similar examples of the same period and describes related resemblances between them. Miniatures in the written work were studied in their technique, style and composition and unique designs created using new techniques and materials, according to which the compositions included in "Sevâkıb-ı Menâkıb" were examined considering the present thesis. 22 miniatures in the Museum were classified regarding spatial order with the composition being based on architectural plot. Classified by their properties of architectural elements, 8 miniatures were studied interiorly, 7 in the exteriorly and 7 both interiorly and exteriorly. Presentation, history, author and interpreter of the work were shown considering their characteristics of composition and style. The explanation of compositional properties of the miniatures was supported by illustrations of compositional layouts. The first chapter informed on its author and the introduction of "Sevâkıb-ı Menâkıb" with the miniatures. The second studied the individual compositions in combination of interior, exterior and both interior and exterior under different headings as well as related presentation of the miniatures in view of style, technique and composition and the third worked on unique practices based on the associated narratives in them.
