Abstract (EN)

Language is the fundamental building block of human thought. Language, which expresses existence, emotions, and cultural heritage at both individual and societal levels, is aesthetically and creatively restructured in the field of literature. For this restructuring process to occur, a language must possess the potential to produce works of literary value. This is made possible by the existence and healthy functioning of characteristics such as the language's nature, historical background and depth, its power of renewal, and its ability to adapt. Literary works are, in a sense, written evidence of whether these characteristics exist in the language or whether they function effectively. In this context, literary texts not only narrate stories but also serve as indicators of the originality, creativity, and cultural richness that the author embodies in the language. This study aims to examine the "vocabulary" inherent in the stories of accomplished storyteller Sevinç Çokum and to examine in detail how this entity is structured through word groups within the text. The analysis of Sevinç Çokum's stories will reveal the power, potential and richness of the Turkish language in the period when the stories were written and will also reveal Sevinç Çokum's contribution to this productive process.
