Flowers and colours as image elements in Sevinç Çokum's stories

Flowers and colors are images that we can encounter and benefit from in every aspect of life. We can encounter both of them as personal preferences, both when it comes to independent study subjects and in the ordinary course of life. There are many studies on both images. Both flowers and colors have an undeniable identity in scientific studies and people's private and personal lives. Of course, flowers and colors have been discussed and studied as separate subjects in various branches of science. Flowers are used in many branches of science, especially botany and medical studies. Colors are the basis of the study titles in the literature such as painting art and color theory. Flowers and colors are reflected in literature and art as elements of imagery, both separately and together. The expressive power of colors is very important in art. There are many colors that stand out in Turkish folk tradition. In addition to being at the center of scientific studies, flowers are also frequently preferred visually by people in daily life. It is seen that flowers and colors are reflected in literary works. As elements of imagery, they both serve to express many things. It is known that flowers and colors can be the subject of separate scientific studies. Flowers and colors have a special importance in the stories of Sevinç Çokum, a Turkish short story and novel writer. Sevinç Çokum used flowers and colors quite often. It is noteworthy that Sevinç Çokum frequently includes flower and color details in her story books and uses both under the same story title. She expressed the moods of people and the course of events in the stories she wrote using flowers and colors. When it comes to Sevinç Çokum's stories, flowers and colors have an important place. With this thesis study, it is aimed to identify the flowers and colors in Sevinç Çokum's stories within the story.
