Abstract (EN)

Rind is a heart person who is generally against to the strict rules of sharia, ungodly, who doesn't quit out of the public house, carefree, who believes in the temporariness of the world and is away pretension. The understanding which shows the origin of these characteristics of rind is often similar to the Sufi thought. Rind and rind style life are the concepts which are praised and mentioned by Divan poets. They have always had a good attitude to the rind but against to zahid who is an opposite character with his strict and negative features. In addition, rind is a concept that poets address to reflect their ideas and feelings. In this thesis study, first, information about Shaykh al-Islam Yahya's life, literary personality and his works were examined and then the facts about these explained. After that the concept of rind was defined and its characteristics were determined and 17th century Divan poet Shaykh al-Islam Yahya was examined from the point of rind. In Yahya's poems, it was determined how he handled concept of rind in his works, and in particular, an answer was searched to the question of how he evaluated the rind with his cleric identity.
