Abstract (EN)

In industrial applications, power control systems are widely used to provide the adjustable power required for high-power systems such as ovens and motors. In this respect, the design, manufacturing and performance of systems for fast and efficient power control are of great importance. In the literature, various theoretical, experimental and practical researches are carried out on the design and development of Silicon-Controlled Rectifier (SCR) based power control systems in terms of mechanical, electrical and software. In this thesis study, a hardware and software-based embedded system design of the SCR-based single-phase solid-state power controller is made in order to perform power control for industrial applications, and the performance of the developed prototype was examined by extracting its electrical operating properties. Phase angle method based on AC signal Zero-Crossing Detection (ZCD) technique is used to quickly switch the SCR modules to obtain the desired power in the system. The microcontroller software is developed in C-based programming. Within the scope of experimental studies for the designed system, current, voltage and power measurements and analysis studies were carried out to determine the operating conditions and performance of the power controller produced as a prototype. In conclusion; with the developed prototype, it has been observed that the adjustable power required for high-power systems can be obtained depending on the change of the phase angle between 0-180. The results obtained from the thesis will contribute to academic and industrial studies on this subject.
