Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to increase the long-term durability of wood material by treating it with antioxidant/antibacterial natural preservatives, to impregnate it in pinus brutia wood by obtaining environmentally friendly ecological natural preservatives from antioxidant/antibacterial plant extracts, and to study the possibilities of using it in the wood industry. In the research; wood samples are taken from the calabrian pine in Köyceğiz Ağla region and also the pinus brutia samples are selected and prepared in accordance with the standards. The leaves of the liquidambar, which is an endemic species of Köyceğiz in the leafy tree class, are used as the plant extract. The leaves of the liquidamber tree are dried and extracted, and then its antibacterial/antioxidant properties were examined. 1%, 3% and 5% solutions are prepared from the obtained extract. Vacuum method is used as impregnation method. Adhesion/retention amount after impregnation, full dry and air dry specific gravity of the wood material from physical tests, combustion resistance; bending resistance and modulus of elasticity and pressure resistance tests are carried out from mechanical tests. According to the test results; the antioxidant and antibacterial activities of the liquidambar leaf extract give positive results, when the highest % retention rate 30 minutes in vacuum and 30 minutes of diffusion, 5% extract (1.13%), the lowest 3% extract (0.31%), air dried specific gravity in 30 minutes vacuum and 30 minutes diffusion 1% extract the highest (0.56 g/cm3), the lowest 3% extract (0.52 g/cm3), fully dry specific gravity highest in 30 minutes vacuum and 30 minutes diffusion the 1% extract (0.53 g/cm3) and the lowest 3% extract (0.49 g/cm3) are detected, At the TGA test, for example the amount of remain at 5500C, entreated with %5 plant Extract increased according to check sample and degradation rate was calculated less as %60.83, the bending strength in mechanical properties are determined as the highest (107.49 N/ mm2) in the 3% extract at 30 minutes vacuum and 30 minutes diffusion, the lowest 5% extract (83.42 N/mm2 ), the pressure resistance 30 minutes vacuum and 30 minutes diffusion 5% extract the highest (67.55 N/mm2), the lowest 1% extract (59.66 N) /mm2), Modulus of Elasticity 1% extract at 30 minutes vacuum and 30 minutes diffusion, the highest (9145 N/mm2), the lowest 5% extract with 30 minutes vacuum and 30 minutes of diffusion (7849 N/mm2).
