Our study, entitled "An Evaluation of the Folk Beliefs in Silvan and Its Vicinity from the Perspective of the History of Religions", is composed of an introduction and three chapters. The introduction presents methodological information such as the subject, purpose, significance, scope, and method of the research, as well as an overview of the historical, geographical, administrative, social, and economic characteristics of the district of Silvan. The first chapter addresses folk beliefs related to the transitional periods of life—birth, marriage, and death—and evaluates them from the perspective of the History of Religions. The second chapter examines pilgrimage sites located in Silvan and the beliefs and rituals associated with these places.
