Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study, which aims to reveal the relation of folk science products in Simav district with the old Turkish beliefs, is to reveal the changes, diversification and present situation of the current beliefs in the region from the past to the present. In this research, taken as a basis to Simav country town and six villages related with Simav town center. In the light of the information obtained from observations and interviews, beliefs, practices, ceremonies, rituals etc. evaluations were made. This study is consisted of three part. In the first chapter, examples of the beliefs of the Turks are given by giving information about the religion, proprietor and, shamanism of the Turks. In the second chapter, abundance ceremonies were mentioned under the title of important ceremonies and beliefs in human life. In the last part of the study, the beliefs related to the animals, laurel, bad luck, dream, color, folk calendar and folk medicine were discussed under the title of other beliefs and practices. It has been observed that the credence in the Turkish beliefs are carried out in many practices applied in the region, ceremonies and the old belief systems are used. It is concluded that the effects of the old Turkish beliefs persist in the beliefs about the Hıdrellez and rain praying procedures, the procedures performed in the transition ceremonies, the treatment of the diseases, the nature, the universe and the imagination of God. While the beliefs mentioned in the study lost their continuity in the district center with each passing day, it was determined that their assets in the villages were more alive.
