Abstract (EN)

The concept of ideology from historical view is not only a frequently encountered concept in political, social, cultural and economic context, but also a key concept which is controversial and not fully, clearly defined. Ideology definitions in diverse societies and in diverse periods make the concept difficult to deal it from a single perspective. In this regard, understanding the scope of ideology brings the thinking of the concept from different perspectives with it. Today cinema; which is accepted as seventh art and accepted as one of the most important industries worldwide, is an effective tool for mass communication which is turned into view within the framework of political, social, and economic factors as ideology since it occurs.This article is determined the cinema as the focal point of cinema functionality to adopt the ideologies to masses, to effectuate the ideologies and to regenerate the existence of ideologies as an important mass communication tool. Ideological cinema and the propaganda as a severe example are being analyzed in the frame of serving for three diverse ideologies. From this point, cinema in Soviet Russia is being analyzed in the context of communist ideology, cinema in Nazi Germany is being analyzed in the context of fascist ideology and the cinema in American Hollywood is being analyzed in the context of capitalist ideology with the examples.
