Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the teacher opinions for 5th, 6th and 7th grade social studies course boks. The model of the study is phenomenology, a qualitative research model. The study group was determined by purposeful sampling method. The study group consists of 25 social studies teachers working in Tokat province and having at least 5-year-professional seniority. Semi-structured interview form containing 9 questions was conducted to find out the accuracy, usability in daily life, adaptation, intensity, suitability for student level, language and expression and suitability for learning outcome in course books. The answers in semi-structured interview were analysed. Content analysis method was conducted. According to the analysis of the teachers' answers in the semi-structured interview form, here are the results ; It has been understood that the informations in course books are in a sufficient level. However, there are some negative results according to the data given by the participants; There may be inaccurate informations in course books. It has been stated that the course books prepared by the Ministry of National Education contain deficiencies in terms of evaluation. There are some incompatibilities between the units. Likewise, it has been concluded that the course books are overly dense and above the student level. Some flaws in language and wording have been found.
