Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine TRT Documentaries in terms of learning fields, acquisition, skills and values in the 4th grade Social Studies Curriculum. Qualitative research method was used in the research and the research was carried out with the design of case study, one of the qualitative research methods. The data of the research was obtained with 135 episodes from 9 different categories of TRT documentaries covering the years 2019-2022 and selected as criteria from 492 most watched episodes. In the research, document analysis, one of the qualitative data collection methods, was used. TRT Documentaries were used as documents in this research. The criterion sampling method, one of the purposive sampling methods, was used in the research. The data were analyzed with the content analysis method. The data obtained are presented both in tables and in an infographic design. As a result of the study, it was discovered that the selected documentaries could be utilised as an educational tool to support Social Studies course teaching. In the research, the category that I did not go with all learning areas in the Social Studies Curriculum is the TRT documentaries in the Science-Technology and Nature-Trip category. According to the findings from thedata obtained, the learning field which demonstrated the highest level of association considering the 'acquisition' concern was found as "People, Places and Environments". When all documentary categories were examined, the highest level of association in terms of acquisition was generated through Social Studies 4.3.1 "It makes inferences about the location of any place around it." type of acquisition. In all documented categories reviewed "SS.4.1.1. Puts himself in the shoes of other individuals with different characteristics.", "SS.4.1.5. Respects the different characteristics of other individuals.", "SS.4.6.3. Suggests social activities that it deems necessary in school life.", "SS. 4.3.2. Draws a sketch of the spaces used in daily life." and "SS. 4.7.2. Comprehends Turkey's relations with its neighbors and other Turkic Republics." gains were the least attributable gains. When documentary categories were investigated with regard to skills, the most associated skill was perception of space and the least one was discovered as financial literacy and using evidence. When documentary categories were investigated with regard to values, the most associated value was industriousness, and the least were aesthetic and honesty. Key Words: Documentaries, 4th grade social studies curriculum, infographic, qualitative research, document review
