Investigation of the sensitivity of social study teachers at the teaching profession according to their personality types

This research was carried out to examine the differentiation of social studies teacher candidates' sensitivity towards the teaching profession according to their personality types. The model of the research is the relational screening model. The research data were collected from 220 students studying in the education faculties of state universities in Aydın, Muğla and Denizli provinces. Convenience sampling method was used in data collection. As data collection tools, "The Sensitivity Scale for Teaching Profession (SSPS)" developed by Uygun et al. (2010) and "Type A and Type B Scale" taken from Özsoy and Yıldız (2013) study were used. The analysis of the data obtained in the research was made in the SPSS V22.0 package program. In the analysis of demographic variables and differences in the study, in the comparison of binary groups, from the t-test; ANOVA test was used to compare multiple groups. In addition, TUKEY test and Pearson Correlation analysis were used. As a result of the research, it was determined that there were significant differences between the groups according to the social studies teacher candidates' sensitivity towards the teaching profession, gender, place of life, order of preference for the teaching profession, grade point averages and personality types. It has been observed that there is a significant relationship between sensitivity towards the teaching profession and personality types.
