Abstract (EN)

Being on social media platforms has become an integral part of everyday life. People have started to display their daily routine on virtual platforms. In this study, it is examined how women use the new self-presentations, which are the sum of the women themselves and the components that they put forward in the Instagram network of social media through motherhood. Moreover, it is tried to explain how they reproduce motherhood with these self-presentations. The theoretical framework of the study is based on Goffman's Dramaturgic Theory as to why and how women display their motherhood on Instagram. Also, the hypothesis of this working is supported with important concepts of sociologists such as Giddens, Bourdieu, Lefebvre and De Certeau. Interview and observation among qualitative research methods were used together for this research. 30 mothers identified in the study were followed-up on Instagram by participant observation and the data were collected by face-to-face interviews with 11 mothers. Finally, the assessments of the collected data were analyzed.
