Investigate of the relationship between self-confidence and risk taking tendencies of sports managers

Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between sports managers' risk taking tendencies and self-confidence and to investigate the effects of this relationship and to make recommendations. The fact that there are many professional sports clubs in South Marmara and that such a study has not been done in the region and the willingness of the executive group of the clubs to develop is one of the aims of this study. For this purpose, 200 people were selected among the managers of professional sports clubs in the Marmara region in 2018-2019. Data were collected by survey. Data collected in the study were coded by entering SPSS 22 program. Independent samples t-test, Anova test and correlation analysis were used for data analysis. As a result of the study, while there is no significant change in sex, age, marital status ve income for self-confidence, a significant change is found for education status and the years of being manager; fort he risk taking tendencies, no significant change is found for sex, age, marital status but only for education level and the years of being manager. Finally, a positive positive relationship was found between self-confidence and risk taking.
