Abstract (EN)

Plant culture –especially garden and flower tradition- has an important place in Ottoman culture studies. Flower books as known şükûfe-nâme are basic documents that show flower and the culture around flowers. In these books are given informations about kinds, growth conditions, soil, care and production technics of flowers. Netâ'icü'l-Ezhâr as known Tezkire-i Şükûfeciyân which had written by Şehremini Mosque Imam Mehmed bin Ahmed el-Ubeydî in 1110/1699 is only flower experts biography which includes life of 202 flower experts. Flowers which can be assumed as a common working area of numerous disciplines such as botanic, agriculture, urbanism, sociology, culture history, art history, literature, Islamic Sufism will be understood clearly in terms of their colors, smells, shapes, meanings and special names if the flower texts written specially for them are evaluated. As a result of this, while basic works come to light that can be reference to all kinds of work about flower, the importance of flower for that time people can also be understood. By this content; garden and flower culture has been mentioned, informed about famous flower books, prepared transcription of Netâ'icü'l-Ezhâr (Tezkire-i Şükûfeciyân) and based on it put emphasize on reflections to divan literature of naming to flower tradition.
