Abstract (EN)
Carbonic anhydrides (CA) (E.C 4.2.1.1.) are the family of enzymes that catalyze the reversible reaction of carbon dioxide and water to bicarbonate and hydrogenation reactions in living organisms. CA metalloenzyme with 16 isoenzymes in total contains zinc ion in its active center. CA I, CA II and CA IV types are found in human eye tissue. Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors reduce intraocular fluid flow, reduce eye fluid pressure and are used to treat glaucoma. In this study, the inhibitory effects of newly synthesized sulfosalic acid derived compounds on hCA I and hCA II, which are candidates for glaucoma therapy, were investigated in vitro.
