Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to transform the Erica Manipuliflora seed into useful products by pyrolysis method. For this purpose, preliminary and component analyzes of Erica Manipuliflora are performed. The selected biomass samples are pyrolysed at (450-550-650-750◦C) temperatures with heating rates of (50-550◦C/min). The pyrolysis experiments show that; at 450◦C the solid product yield is high (28,19%), at 550◦C the maximum liquid product yield (34,13%) has been reached. It is determined that there is a continuous increase in gas product yield with increasing temperature. In addition, in order to improve the yield of bio-oil products, the effects of 10% MCM-41 and Al-MCM-41 catalysts on the yield and quality of liquid products were investigated. In the second step of the study, the char products obtained by pyrolysis method at 550◦C and at the heating rate of 550◦C/min are aimed at physical and chemical activation to improve the pore structure and they are used to remove methylene blue from aqueous solutions by adsorption method. At 550◦C temperature with a heating rate of 550◦C/min, the char's BET surface area is 113,72 m2/g, with the physical activation the result is 354,22 m2/g, and with chemical activation it reached 1295,20 m2/g. In the next stage of the study, BET, SEM and ATR methods were applied to the solid products obtained from pyrolysis, and FTIR and GC-MS analysis of the liquid products were performed. It is determined that bio-oil obtained can be used as renewable energy source and chemical raw material with the improvements to be made. It has been determined that the activated carbons obtained from char products can be used effectively in the removal of dyes.
