Abstract (EN)
Throughout human history, human beings have spent considerable effort in communicating to others, both the significant and the trivial encounters of daily life. They started first with pictures drawn on the walls of caves and with the development of writing this desire manifested itself in the form of books. Within the Ottoman Empire, this trajectory can be seen in the care taken in the Palace to achieve this in a formal way. Outside of the palace, many poets and travelers recorded important events of their time, their traditions and their culture, in works of many volumes that cannot be counted. The 18th Century poet Sürûrî wrote more than two thousand poems. This collection, written from a perspective outside of the official history, is very important in terms of illuminating many aspects of life during this period. This thesis examines the elements of social life and customs from this era that are exposed within the works of Sürûrî. Key words: Dating, Sürûrî, tradition, daly life
