Abstract (EN)
In the present study, possible anaesthetic effect of spurge (Euphorbia rigida) aqueous extract on rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was investigated. With this purpose, fish were exposed to different five different doses of the plant (30000 ppm, 40000 ppm, 50000 ppm, 60000 ppm and 70000 ppm) in triplicate at 20 C°. In the study, 480 rainbow trout with 63.69 g average weight was used. After application of the plant, the shortest fainting time was determined on 70000 ppm group (P<0.05). The shortest awakening time determined on 60000 ppm group compared to other groups (P<0,05). The study results showed that 60000 and 70000 ppm purge (Euphorbia rigida) aqueous extract could be use as an anaesthetic in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).
